Chavalit Thanachanan
![]() Mr. Chavalit served as Chairman of such notable institutions as the Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand, The Communications Authority of Thailand, the Expressway and Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand, Securities One Public Company Limited, Srivara Real Estate Group Public Company Limited and Metro Machinery Co., Ltd. He also served a number of charitable foundations, including as Director of the Chin Sophonpanich Foundation and the Won Preuk Chalerm Phrakiat Rama 9 Foundation. In 1985, Mr. Chavalit was awarded the Knight Grand Cross (First Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand, and in 1987, the Knight Grand Cross (First Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant. Mr. Chavalit was
presented an honorary doctorate degree in Commerce and Accountancy
from Thammasat University in 1990. That same year, he was selected
Banking and Finance Magazine's Banker of the Year. He joined the Board
of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in October 1997 as an
Independent Director, and was elected Chairman of the Board in the

![]() Mr. Owen R. Jonathan joined the Board of the South China Morning Post (Holdings) Ltd. in September 1994 as an Executive Director and Deputy Chief Executive; on 1 January 1998 he became Chief Executive. He is a Law graduate of Bristol University. He joined Norton Rose, a firm of the City of London Solicitors in 1974 and was a partner from 1983 to 1994. He joined the Board of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in May 1996 and resigned as Director in July 2000.
![]() Mr. Kuok Khoon Ean has been with the Kuok Group since 1978 and is concurrently Executive Adviser of Kuok (Singapore) Ltd., Director of Kerry Holdings Ltd., and Chairman of the South China Morning Post (Holdings ) Ltd. A Malaysian, Mr. Kuok is a Director of the PPB Group Bhd. and Pelangi Bhd. He also holds directorships in Allgreen Properties Ltd. and GB Holdings Ltd. and is a member of the Singapore Tourism Board. Mr. Kuok graduated from Nottingham University, U.K., with a bachelor's degree in Economics in 1977. He joined the Board of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in May 1999. ![]() A graduate of the National University of Malaysia, Mr. Lim Soon Huat joined the Kerry Group in 1989 and spent most of his career with the Kerry Group of Companies in Singapore, China and Hong Kong, before he was appointed Country Manager to Thailand in 1994. He is currently a Director of the Shangri-La Hotel Public Company Limited and also sits on the board of a number of joint ventures involving the Kerry Group in Thailand. Mr. John B. van der Linden
He was Managing Director of Multi Credit Corporation of Thailand from 1979 until 1989. From 1987 to 1998, he served on the General Committee of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club and currently he is a member of the Board Finance Committee of the Asian Institute of Technology. He rejoined the Board of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in 1990 after retiring from MCC, and is currently an Independent Director and Chairman of the Company's Audit Committee. ![]() A veteran newspaper man who began his career with the Melbourne Age, Mr. Ian J. Fawcett worked with Reuters AAP, and was Bureau Manager for India, and later, the Middle East. He came to the Bangkok Post in 1977 as Managing Editor, after a stint at the Sunday Telegraph and a distinguished career at the Thomson Organization. He became Managing Director of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in 1984 and retired in 1988, but remained on the Board until his resignation in April 2000.
Dr. Siri Ganjarerndee ![]() In the early 70s,
while studying in Australia, he also spent a considerable amount of
time teaching at Sydney University and the University of N.S.W., and
was concurrently appointed a Research Officer at the Reserve Bank
of Australia. He joined the
Board of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in May 1999. He
is also a member of the Audit Committee. Mr. Pichai Vasnasong
He is involved in numerous social development organisations. He is Chairman of The Family Planning Foundation of Thailand, and Director of The Family Planning Association of Thailand, The Foundation of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, and the Erawan Hotel's Brahma Foundation. He is a graduate
of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University. He has served as Consultant
to a number of ministers--Minister of Foreign Affairs Gen. Siddhi
Savetsila, Minister of Finance Sommai Huntrakul and Prime Minister
Prem Tinsulanonda. He was a Senator between 1985 and 2000. He joined
the Board of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in May 2000

Dr. Kantathi Suphamongkhon
Between 1988 and 1992, he served as Diplomatic Representative of Thailand to the United Nations in New York. Back in Thailand in 1992, he was a Counsellor in the International Organizations Department and also an Adviser on Foreign Affairs to the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the Thai Parliament. He served as Director of the Policy and Planning Division between 1993 and 1994. Dr. Kantathi resigned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1994. He is now Director and/or Managing Director of numerous companies including: Athakravi Co., Ltd., Athakehaputt Co., Ltd., Kanta Enterprise International Co., Ltd. and Kanta Sahakij Co., Ltd. On 2 July 1995, Dr. Kantathi was elected member of the House of Representatives of the Thai National Assembly. In 1996, Dr. Kantathi was the Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister of Thailand. He joined the Board of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in 1994. Mr. Cyril D. Pereira
In addition to experience in print technology and magazine publishing in Singapore and Malaysia, Mr. Pereira also managed local advertising agencies in both countries. He has been with the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong since 1985, responsible for newspaper technology investment and operations. He was concurrently the Publisher of the regional Asia Magazine for 12 years. Mr. Pereira has been Chairman of the Society of Publishers in Asia and continues to serve on its Executive Board. He represents the Newspaper Society on the government's Publishing Training Board in Hong Kong. The South China Morning Post has won numerous international awards for its excellence in colour quality. He joined the Board of The Post Publishing Public Company Limited in September 2000. |
